Infant Feeding
I think the environment and genetics play a main factor in obesity in infants. Sometimes babies are born to small or to big for their age.It might be cause by eating solids to early or eating the wrong type of food.
Children come with no manuals and each child is different, all I can say is as a parent try to do your best to maintain your child's diet and take hied to what doctors and sometimes people say about your child's weight. My children are in excellent health and they are not over weight because what I choose to feed them, I have strayed away from the things that I was raised on high in fat and sugar so that my children won't have to battle with weight issues as I do. I believe that my parents being poor and poorly educated on healthy eating contributed to my being over weight and I don't my children to over weight. To brake the cycle I try to buy the healthiest food my budget that my money can afford and I do not force fed them, as my parents did I kind of touched on that in one of are earlier blogs about childhood memories, how I was forced to eat everything on my plate. Just keep a watchful eye and be a good role model as far as your eating habits and your child/children will follow.
I agree, also some already obese parents try to over feed their infants resulting in obesity and in adult obesity as well. My mom who is a big woman used to take care of my niece and over fed the poor girl, to the point where she was huge. She lost weight growing up and when she went to school. But after she had her own children she became obese because of the fat cells already in he body!
